Minister of Economics visits Freqcon
On Saturday, the 7th of October, Lower Saxony`s Minister of Economics, Olaf Lies, visited the Freqcon headquarter. The minister was impressed with Freqcon`s innovative product portfolio and praised the management for creating 70 jobs in a rural and structurally weak region. Hybrid Flywheel-Battery Demonstration Project
Freqcon is participating in a Hybrid Flywheel-Battery demonstration project for grid stabilisation and will develop a special multi-source converter to connect flywheels and batteries to the grid. The project received € 2.9 million EU-funding under the Fast-Track to Innovation programme, part of the Horizon 2020 scheme. The 3 other partners in this project are Schwungrad Energie Ltd. ISO Certification according to ISO 9001: 2015
Freqcon is now certified according to ISO 9001: 2015. Within the scope of the certification, we have improved our quality management system, clearly defining structures and company guidelines, clearly defining areas of competence and responsibilities and further optimizing work processes.
New Mini-MSC-System for off-grid power supply
The new Mini-MSC-System (MSC = Multi Source Converter) provides a stable and sustainable electricity supply for remote areas, based on renewable energy in combination with energy storage and back-up generator. After successful deployment of several MSC-projects in the MW-range we now offer this technology also for medium sized projects ranging from 20kW to 150kW.

German Renewables Award 2016 awarded to Freqcon GmbH
This is the second time round that German Energy System Developer Freqcon wins the prestigious German Renewables Award, after convincing the jury in 2014 with a 2MW-wind turbine design with integrated battery storage system. This year Freqcon won in the category „Product Innovation of the Year“ with the UGS Ultracapacitor Grid Stabilizer.

His topic has introduced innovative methods and electrical frequency converter technology. The electric converter is regarded as a vital component in order to be able to use clean energy.
